The MEC Foundation has been created to enhance the lives, living standards and education of local communities throughout Indonesia. Currently, most skilled and educated labour in East Kalimantan comes from elsewhere in Indonesia and abroad. The MEC Foundation aims to help the people of East Kalimantan to develop their skills to develop a regional talent pool.
As a partner in sustainable progress, the MEC Foundation's commitment goes beyond securing energy for the future, the MEC Foundation endeavours to make a significant difference for its host communities across the region by helping to create business opportunities and enhance livelihood prospects.
The MEC Foundation will offer a holistic development approach that empowers people through education, vocational training programmes and healthcare support services. All would be designed to improve overall wellbeing and build human resource capacities in the countryside in contemplation of evolving economic activities.
Currently the MEC Foundation supports the charity Indonesian Pintar, which provides a source of multi-functional learning programmes to remote communities across Indonesia
